It’s a good thing there are 9 months to learn everything you need to know about obstetrics, a doctor vs. a midwife, childbirth classes, a birth and post partum doula, who teaches what, breastfeeding, baby care, infant development, the list goes on. How can you become an expert in so many areas in order to make the right decisions for you? You need a village! There is so much information to make sense of and so many options. The decisions you make are important because it affects how you feel about becoming a mother / parent.

They work at Providence Hospital in Southfield, one of the best hospital birthing options in Michigan, the Alternative Birth Center known as the “ABC.” They are passionate about helping women have an empowering birth experience. Dee has been a nurse since 1975 and Mary has been attending births as a nurse, a homebirth midwife and a Certified Nurse Midwife since 1973. Both became nurses so they could help women have babies, to encourage them to be the best they can be, and to tap into their inner strengths.
